My name is Fiona, and I'm a recruitment and business development consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment consultancy specializing in the recruitment of finance professionals. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent on Montreal's South Shore. Our team of finance experts speaks your language and operates in your world. We cover accounting, finance and payroll.

I'm looking for a Financial Controller for a company in the construction sector located in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Manage all accounting operations, i.e. billing, receivables, general ledger as well as project cost accounting;
-Coordinate and handle budgeting and financial forecasting, reporting variances;
-Prepare and publish monthly financial statements on time;
-Coordinate preparation of various regulatory reports;
-Research technical accounting issues for compliance purposes;
Handle month-end and year-end closing procedures;
-Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reports;
-Manage and comply with federal, state and local government and income tax reporting obligations;
-Implement and detail accounting business processes and policies to ensure and strengthen internal controls;
-Supervise a team of 5 to 6 people (payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable);
-Any other duties required by the employer.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

-Have a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent training;
-Have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (strong asset);
-Have five (5) years' experience in accounting (construction industry, asset);
-Be proficient with Excel software from the Microsoft Office suite (advanced);
-Be comfortable with an ERP system (Acumatica, asset);
-Have a sound knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
