Currently, we are supporting one of our clients, a company specializing in metallurgy located in Saint-Hyacinthe, Montérégie, in their search for a Project and Procurement Coordinator in Metallurgy.
Responsibilities
🎯 Your Mission
In this versatile role, you will play a strategic part in managing various technical projects as well as in planning and organizing industrial procurement. You will oversee each phase of the projects, from needs analysis to final delivery, ensuring compliance with established deadlines and budgets.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Industrial Project Coordination:
Analyzing technical needs, defining specifications based on blueprints, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing solution deployment until commissioning.
* Procurement Management:
Assessing and selecting suppliers, negotiating contractual terms (pricing, deadlines, payment terms), and supervising procurement processes.
* Technical Supervision:
Validating technical proposals from partners for equipment such as metallurgical materials, pumps, motors, or other industrial components.
* Operational Management:
Monitoring orders, addressing on-site challenges, and maintaining proactive communication with internal and external teams to ensure delivery meets expectations.
* Budget Management:
Developing and monitoring project budgets, optimizing costs, and ensuring financial objectives are met.
* Team Collaboration:
Working closely with technical and operational teams to design innovative and tailored solutions for clients' needs.
* Team Management:
Supervising and mentoring two team members in procurement and logistics functions.
Required Skills
* Education:
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in designing, installing, acquiring, or manufacturing equipment in the metallurgy sector.
* Contractual Knowledge:
Strong understanding of contract clauses and proven experience in technical and commercial negotiations.
* Project Management:
Demonstrated expertise in coordinating technical projects and solving problems within multidisciplinary teams.
* Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French.
* Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an asset.
