Job Description:

At Retail Advice & Solutions (RA&S) within Sun Life Canada our vision is to help our clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives with tailored advice and solutions through their channel of choice.

Retail Advice & Solutions (RA&S) Advanced Analytics & the Business Intelligence team are seeking a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team, to support our ever-growing data & insights needs within our business unit. Reporting to Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be closely working with data engineers and our internal stakeholders to deliver on the roadmap for analytics.

• Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Tableau server

• Maintaining and enhancing existing reports to meet the evolving needs of our various stakeholders.

• Identifying and implementing ways to increase user knowledge and the value they derive from our dashboards.
  Automating existing processes with a focus on increasing efficiency, effectiveness, and controls.

• Assisting with data extracts and analysis as required to support high priority needs.

• Analytic work from requirements specification, data gathering, analysis to presentations to solve business problems.

• Work with stakeholders across Sun Life as a subject matter expert in the client, and advisor data.

• 2 years experience in a similar technical role

• Demonstrated experience in Tableau. Working with data (i.e., quantitative analysis experience, including handling, manipulating, and analyzing data and data visualization).

• Experience in using data analysis tools such as Microsoft SQL server, SAS EG or similar. Must be proficient in SQL coding. Comfortable writing accurate, efficient, but complex SQL queries to extract and integrate data from multiple database sources.

• Experience of working with AWS data toolsets (eg: S3, Glue, Trino etc.) and knowledge of using Python/Pyspark.

• Advanced user of MS Excel.

• Experience using oral and written storytelling to share data driven insights in a clear, succinct manner.

• Strong partnering approach with a commitment to meeting business partners' unique needs and expectations.

• In-depth prioritization, planning, and change management skills to stay within time/scope of a task in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction

• Own documentation and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

• Work within the guidelines of data governance with respect to how data is collected, stored, arranged, and integrated.

• Past experience in life insurance / wealth management, other financial services industry components (e.g., retail banking, credit card, properly and casualty insurance), or distribution (asset)

• Working knowledge of one or more SLF Canada business units

• A suitable academic background, such as a degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or economics, or equivalent work experience

• Bilingual in French will be considered a strong asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
