Job Description:

The Group Retirement Services Implementation Project Lead is accountable for the accurate and timely installation of new clients, and major revisions to existing clients. They are responsible for managing all components of their assigned projects, working in partnership with our clients, Advisors, Consultants, Business Development, and all internal stakeholders to deliver quality business solutions.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Define quality business solutions, using standard offerings and service capabilities

  • Manage all phases of assigned projects from initiation to closure, applying Project Management best practices e.g. planning, scheduling, and risk management

  • Define plan structures and map all client requirements

  • Create and maintain project plans and timelines that clearly outline task assignments/ownership, deliverables and targets allowing for coordinated execution and control

  • Proactively manage project changes, risks, issues and actions

  • Manage client, Advisor and Consultant relationships to ensure project delivery expectations are specified and met

  • Communicate project updates regularly and effectively to ensure all internal and external stakeholders are kept up-to-date (meetings, status updates, etc.)

  • Work with multi-site project teams

  • Utilize strong leadership, influencing and facilitation skills to coordinate and drive projects to successful completion

  • Represent Implementation at finalist presentations

Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of project management techniques, tools and methodologies

  • Proven experience leading and managing projects

  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks over multiple projects

  • Solid understanding of Group Retirement Services and administrative practices

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Customer focus

  • Proven ability to develop and nurture relationships, both internal and external

  • Positive, energetic attitude at all times

  • Ability to travel, if needed (must have access to a car)

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English

Assets:

  • PMP certification or equivalent

  • Previous experience in Group Retirement Services Operations and/or Sales & Service environment

  • Ability to manage a flexible work schedule

  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
