Our Division & Communities Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County. We honour the spirit, life, and lessons this land and its ancestors teach us. We acknowledge the traditional land and territories of the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuutina, and Îyârhe Nakoda as well as the Foothills District and the Rocky View District within the Battle River Territory of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of Alberta.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Leadership Contribute to creating a culture that values all students and embraces and celebrates diversity Coordinate relevant professional development while utilizing and building on current expertise within the system Work collaboratively as a member of the Inclusive Learning team and larger Learning Services team Leverage education research for continuous improvement of Inclusive Education that is supported by data Support schools in developing, implementing and maintaining a continuum of supports and services that support all students in the areas of learning, behavior and or social-emotional learning and mental health Lead and support teams within the Inclusive Learning portfolio such as YDCs Develop, implement and sustain EA onboarding and mentoring Other duties as assigned System Leadership Advise school-based educators and provide leadership at the organizational level Effectively manage and problem solve challenging situations Maintain knowledge in current educational pedagogy Respond promptly to incidents involving student behaviour and provide solution focused leadership to minimize future incidents Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with external agencies Support schools and families in navigating systems to access wrap around services to support students Administrative Management Support with the development and implementation of policies and procedures Support the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures related to promoting clear consistent expectations that focus on successful outcomes for students. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an individual who is an experienced educator and proven leader with significant experience, with or working towards a master�s degree in leadership, curriculum or a related field. Demonstrated experience with school or system leadership experience is preferred. Excellent professional oral and written communication is required.
