The Fort Vermilion School Division invites applications for the position of Literacy/Numeracy Coordinator.The Fort Vermilion School Division prioritizes student improvement in literacy and numeracy skills across all content areas. To implement strategies to strengthen and develop student skills, the division will be employing a 1.0 FTE for St. Mary's Elementary School and Rocky Lane School in the upcoming 2025-26 school year. The coordinators will be responsible for:
Duties:
- Professional development on systematic and explicit instruction
- Use of data to drive instruction and intervention
- Implementing coaching cycles according to the FVSD Content Coaching Model
Required Qualifications:
- Have, or are eligible for, an Alberta teaching certificate
- Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
- The ability to work in a team environment and take direction
- The ability to travel and demonstrate flexibility of schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced in facilitating professional development to teachers
- Previous instructional leadership experience
- Completed or working on a Master's program in Curriculum/Instruction/Numeracy
