Mental Health Therapist
The Fort Vermilion School Division is accepting applications for a Mental Health Therapist (1.0 FTE) to coordinate and provide services in High Level and surrounding communities. The Mental Health Therapist will work within a collaborative team that provides a range of prevention, proactive and intervention services within inclusive school environments in an effort to develop, nurture and enhance the mental and emotional wellbeing of children, youth and families.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
Master’s Degree in Counseling/Educational Psychology/Social Work with clinical designation or related health sciences field
Eligible for membership with the appropriate professional body in Alberta if applicable
3 years’ experience in child, youth and family counseling
Experience in clinical assessment and therapy
Strong organizational and case management skills
Experience with universal and targeted skill building programming in schools
Strong understanding of an educational setting
Ability to establish rapport with students, families and community agencies
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills
Experience leading a team
Ability to lead and supervise others
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
Understanding of local cultures an asset
Knowledge of Fort Vermilion School Division schools and community agencies an asset
Start Date: September 3rd, 2024
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range from $78,000 to $92,941 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
Benefits will be provided after 90 calendar days of employment.
