San Antonio School is located in the community of Bissett, which is a 256 km drive northeast of Winnipeg. The school is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with 5 students, a teaching principal, a secretary and a custodian. Bissett is a mining community with an operational gold mine and is positioned on the shores of Rice Lake at the entrance of Nopiming Provincial Park. The town offers such services as a store and restaurant, a garage, outdoor rink, baseball diamond, beach, campground, curling rink, community hall and more. The areas natural beauty provides for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities. Qualifications: · Bachelor of Education degree and valid Manitoba Teachers Certificate (or eligibility for) · Masters Degree in Education and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset. · Previous teaching experience including experience in multi-graded classrooms. · Previous administrative experience would be an asset. · Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction · Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum. · Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to effectively communicate with parents and the community and foster parental involvement. · Previous success with the development and implementation of short and long-term school-based plans · Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems. · Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment.
