As we quickly approach the 2024/2025 School Year, we are seeking applications for Substitute Teachers for all Grasslands Public School Locations.

In addition to direct contact for booking dispatches, we also offer automated phone dispatches, which provide newer substitutes with more frequent opportunities to book, as well as web based dispatch booking.
We work closely with the ATA Substitute Teacher representative to improve our processes and experience for our Substitute Teachers.
We hold Substitute Teacher appreciation events.
We provide mileage for qualifying distances automatically.

Job Duties:
identify students’ individual and collective learning needs;
plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs;
provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to their potential;
help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills;
meet with parents;
evaluate and communicate student progress;
prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help;
meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress;
volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities; and
attend meetings, seminars and in-service training sessions.

Education and Certifications:
Bachelor of Education
pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution
Valid Alberta Teaching Certification (or able to quickly obtain it)
Successful applicants will be required to submit before start date :
Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
Original document reported within the last 6 months of hire date; condition of employment
* Applicants cannot work before a clear CRC with VSC has been provided and approved*
