International Language Instructor
In accordance with the OSSTF Continuing Education Instructors Collective Agreement, the Greater Essex County District School Board invites applications from interested, qualified candidates for the position of International Language Instructor.
International Language Instructors will instruct classes on Saturday mornings at a school site(s). Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon commencing Saturday, October 5, 2024 to May 10, 2025.
Job Summary:
Position KAREN Instructor
Duties: Instructing students to learn the language KAREN
Term of appointment: 2024-2025 school year
This position is a one (1) year assignment, extendable on an annual basis by agreement between both employer and employee.
Salary: $38.55 per hour (including pay for Vacation and Statutory Holidays) In accordance with the OSSTF Continuing Education Instructors Collective Agreement.
Position Replacement Spanish Instructor
Duties: Instructing students to learn the Spanish language
Term of appointment: On-call for the 2024-2025 school year
Salary: $38.55 per hour (including pay for Vacation and Statutory Holidays) In accordance with the OSSTF Continuing Education Instructors Collective Agreement.
Nature & Scope of Position:
Demonstrate strong collaborative, presentation, written and oral communication skills to support the delivery of the program.
Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, antiracist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.
Assist with the promotion of the International Languages Program.
Experience working with youth and adult students would be considered an asset.
Current police clearance required.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in computer skills such as but not limited to: Word, Excel or other database software.
Proficiency and fluency in the international language of KAREN or Spanish.
Legally allowed to work in Canada, over the age of 18.
An interest and passion about languages.
Classroom experience considered an asset.
Effective organization, communication skills, and respect within the classroom environment.
