Position Description:

A Technology and Operations Infrastructure Engineering Lead must plan, organize, lead and monitor the ongoing operational activities, and various transformation programs. They must manage and coach teams to ensure operational excellence is adhered to using best industry practices, appropriate tools and processes, with a focus on client-centric requirements.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Best Practices & Improvements
• Work with the Delivery and Support primes to assess risks and readiness of changes to key platforms
• Document and implement operational best practices and improvements.
• Conduct reviews of major incidents and provide recommendations for continuous operation improvements.
• Ensure appropriate tools and processes are in place to address risks.
• As leader on the support team, prime major incidents and help CGI to meet or exceed SLA objectives.
• Drive teams toward triage and resolution.
• Orient the troubleshooting steps toward problem resolution.
• Ensure that infrastructure and application are synchronized and working together.
• Provide guidance to the support team members in resolving the issue, where required
• Lead the team post major incidents in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and follow-up on RCA actions items to completion.
• Ensure escalation process is followed. Engineering Delivery Responsibilities:
• Leverage and develop client relationship to demonstrate domain expertise and to establish trust by applying acquired knowledge to the client business and operation problems.
• Experience in leading senior technical resources with a focus on Automation, Cloud and Observability technologies.
• Drive Infrastructure roadmap planning including technology currency, capacity and resiliency.
• Delivery high availability by engineering robust solutions and reducing technical debt, advancing technology consolidation and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain overall delivery control of all expected operational excellence initiatives
• Take action on issues of non-compliance in quality and ensure all initiatives are in accordance with quality standards
• Maintain ongoing contact with the client stakeholders and ensure ongoing close work relationship
• Share expertise, knowledge and help grow technical skills within the CGI team
• Communicate plans, responsibilities and status to project stakeholders
• Manage and communicate all outstanding issues, risks and decisions
• Perform or guide the role of requirements manager, ensuring that the procedures identified for requirements management are followed

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
• Technology background, especially in a service-oriented environment with a deep understanding of Infrastructure - datacenters, server, network, storage, database products and services.
• Deep hands-on technical expertise. Experience in delivering customer facing features.
• Deep understanding of project and program management with 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment taking a product through its complete lifecycle
• Proven track record of leading large cross-functional projects.
Certifications• ITIL Foundation certification training preferred• CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification training preferred
