Position Description:

CGI is seeking an experienced Data Practice Manager for the Greater Montreal Business Unit. The Practice Leader will be responsible for the strategic direction, marketing activities, offerings and talent management within the practice and business unit. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of strategy, governance, data science, visualization and deep experience in technology and delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to shape, develop and lead a fast-growing practice.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Here are the main responsibilities of the role:

Strategy and vision:

- Develop and maintain a strategic vision that aligns with overall business objectives.
- Identify emerging data trends and technologies and recommend investment opportunities.
- Ensure that the practice maintains a competitive edge by keeping abreast of the latest methodologies, technologies and best practices.
Service offerings and business development:
- Design and refine service offerings to meet customer needs and industry demands.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote offerings and generate new business opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with customers and partners, promoting customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- In collaboration with the various business sectors in the Greater Montreal area, recruit, develop and retain the best talent within the practice to ensure a high-performance team.
- Coach and mentor practice members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.

Project execution and consulting:

- Collaborate on successful projects, ensuring they meet or exceed customer expectations, deadlines and budgets.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on complex data challenges and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain best practices for project execution, quality assurance and risk management.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics or related field.
- More than 10 years' experience in data analysis, data management or data governance, including at least 5 years in a management role.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French. Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global customers.
- Solid experience in project management and consulting.
- In-depth knowledge of data analysis tools and technologies.
- Experience of data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and techniques.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and manage high-performance teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop effective strategies and solutions that generate value for customers.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. PMP, CBIP, CDMP) is an asset.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and methodologies is an asset.
- Previous experience in a large IT consulting firm or similar environment
