Salary:

$47,486 - $63,640 (as per the Collective Agreement)

There is a temporary, thirty-five (35) hour per week position available with duties effective immediately, ending at a date to be determined.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Child & Youth Counsellors, the Child and Youth Counsellors (CYCs) work as a member of an integrated school team. They collaborate with families, school staff, and community agencies to enhance student success and well-being. Child and Youth Counsellors promote, support, and facilitate school and class-wide preventative initiatives and programs that foster healthy, safe, and inclusive Catholic school environments. As part of an inter-disciplinary team, CYCs provide direct small group and individual support for students of all ages impacted by a range of social, emotional, and developmental concerns.

Qualifications / Experience:

Qualified applicants will hold a Child Care Youth Worker Diploma from a recognized post Secondary institution.

Related work experience.

Knowledge of Board policies and procedures.

Problem solving, planning and creativity skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols, and strategies.

This position is covered by the A.P.S.S.P Collective Agreement.

an original Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within the last six (6) months
