$53,801 - $75,580 (without Masters Degree)

$63,296 - $91,762 (with Masters Degree)

Length of Assignment:

Core Function

The School Chaplaincy Leader fosters and develops the faith life of the students and staff of a given school providing opportunities for the theory of religious education to be lived out in the community. Through the provision of liturgical celebrations, retreat programs and community outreach activities, the School Chaplaincy Leader fosters an awareness and practice of living out the Catholic Social Teaching. Practicing a visible ministry of presence, the School Chaplaincy Leader listens, affirms and brings compassion. They animate discussion and experiences to build the home, school, parish relationships and work collaboratively with Administration to ensure Catholicity of the school. The School Chaplaincy Leader encourages a spirit of shared ministry and is committed to nurturing their own spiritual journey. Through prayer, create an atmosphere where students feel connected to and find comfort in their faith.

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (minimum requirement) or Master’s level degree in Theology, Divinity, Religious Education

or a related field.

• Demonstration of a special capacity with staff and students as it relates to pastoral care, spiritual development, apostolic service,

and liturgy.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.

• A mature, sensitive appreciation of the role of the clergy and the participation of the laity.

• Flexibility in work hours (some evening work may be required).

• Proven commitment to Catholic faith traditions and active involvement in local parish

• Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols, and strategies.

an original Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within the last six (6) months
