Reporting to the Manager of Corporate and Medical Affairs, the Credentials Coordinator will process applications for appointment and reappointment to the Medical/Professional Staff and provide clerical support in the physician hiring
process. The Coordinator will also direct the day-to-day work of the credentials Secretaries and act as the primary point of contact for all credentialing activity at Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.


Qualifications

1. University Degree, College Diploma or Certificate in secretarial duties preferred
2. Minimum 5 years of secretarial experience, preferably within an academic health sciences centre
3. Medical Terminology
4. Demonstrated computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and database systems (Windows, Word, Excel,
Access, Power Point and Crystal Reports)
5. Proficient key boarding skills (60 wpm)
6. Knowledge of Medical Staff structure and purpose
7. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills and support executive committees and take
minutes
8. Effective problem solving skills and respond positively to change
9. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize and set priorities, establish good working relationships with
others and work as part of a team
10. Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information, organize and develop systems which create efficient
workflow and meet stringent project and task deadlines
