Controller of Business Services
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Controller of Business Services ensuring timelines/deadlines are met for Board reports, Ministry filings, and local and provincial memorandum. Good understanding of accounting principles which is used in many of their day to day duties. Assists with the general administration of the Board's community use of school permits and administers collection of permit fees in eBASE. Provides assistance with the issuance of the Board's account receivable invoices and any other duties as assigned.
Description:
Provides administrative assistance to the Controller of Business Services and the Finance Department
Provides administrative support to the Community Use of Schools Coordinator including but not limited to the following: collection of permit fees, resolve any payment discrepancies, assist with the collection and safe recording of required user documentation
Prepares accounts receivable invoices as required such as contract unions, secondments, leases Ministry required
Responsible for the coding, reviewing, calculating and initiating all Accounts Receivable invoices
Follows up on any past due invoices
Designated lead contact and support for a family of schools with respect to all KEV/School Cash Suite matters
Prepare, review and submit the monthly HST remittance
Responsible for the timely and accuracy of the non-statutory payroll deductions.
Prepares various ad hoc and monthly accounting analysis and financial reports
Qualifications:
Post-Secondary degree and/or diploma in business/finance/accounting
Minimum of three years' experience in a confidential administrative office setting preferably in public sector/School Board
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access) including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and/or financial statements with excel and, with accuracy
Experience and good working knowledge with KEV/School Cash Suite; NAVision, eBASE an asset
Excellent communication skills
Ability to train and work with school administrative staff
Maturity in dealing with confidential information
Experience with meeting deadlines, streamlining work processes, working cooperatively
Ability to self-motivate and take initiative
