NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE
Inpatient Surgical Unit
Primary Site: Stratford Site
Regular Part-Time
(Shifts: 12-hour day/nights, 7 days/week may be subject to change)
REPORTS TO: Manager, Surgical Inpatients, Porters, MDRD
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $35.99 to $38.16 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Certificate in all nursing skills required by the Department of Nursing in the assigned unit.
- Current BLS certification
- Medication Administration
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two (2) years related nursing experience preferred
- IV drug administration
- Insertion of Gastric tubes
- Flushing of PRN adaptors
- Subcutaneous portal insertion and drug administration
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Good communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing continuing education
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
