ABOUT MY CLIENT

My client is a government agency in British Columbia tasked with collaborating with the forest industry and other governmental bodies to enhance awareness of and market demand for British Columbia's forest products, both domestically and internationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role involves actively engaging in various financial tasks such as entering financial transactions, managing contract finances, recording entries in the general ledger, handling accounts receivable and payable, overseeing petty cash, reconciling bank accounts, processing travel claims and internal expense claims, and conducting financial reporting. The incumbent will analyze financial data to ensure its accuracy and reliability and assist in preparing financial statements. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Financial management accounting
  • Financial reporting
  • Accounts payable & Accounts receivable management
  • Expense reconciliation
  • Asset management

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of accounting and accounts payable experience.
  • Proficiency in working with Public Sector Accounting Standards and various accounting software.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Skill in performing analytical work and devising solutions to accounting challenges.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Excel spreadsheets, QuickBooks or similar accounting software, Wrike, Word, and Outlook.
  • Post Secondary education is required as well as enrollment/pursual of the CPA program

COMPENSATION

  • $60,000-$75,000
  • 3 Weeks’ vacation
  • Health Spending + Corporate welfare allowance
  • Extended health benefits
  • Government standard RSP (9%!)
  • Hybrid working (2 days per week)
