Our client is a leading boutique law firm based in Downtown Vancouver with a focus on practice areas such as insurance class actions and health law.They strive to promote a collaborative and welcoming environment.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The successful candidate will join the clients Commercial Litigation team and work with a vibrant, friendly, and collaborative team. There will be great opportunities to grow and expand skills as the firm prefers to promote from within.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Working closely with other legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, and clients the main responsibilities of this role include:

• Drafting pleadings, legal documents, and correspondence.
• Fielding client inquiries.
• Maintaining and managing a system to track tasks and appointments.
• Schedule and organize court dates, trials, and discoveries.
• Prepare application records.
• Oversee monthly accounts.
• Conduct searches.
• Other duties as assigned.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• At least 1-3 years of paralegal experience within the Commercial Litigation practice
• Graduate of a Paralegal Diploma or relevant experience required
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the BC Civil Rules and court practices and procedures
• In office 3 days a week
• Technological proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe and BC OnLine

COMPENSATION

• $60,000 - $65,000
• 12% Billable hour bonus
• 3 weeks vacation
