Our client is a family-owned business that has been operational for over 50 years. The company is multi-faceted with a Building, Civil and Mining division. This position is for their civil infrastructure division.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This client has recently started a $500 project in Vancouver. The project consists of tunnelling, seismic upgrades and utility upgrades and will be close to 4 years in duration. They also have a pipeline of projects down the line after this project completes.

ABOUT THE POSITION
In this role you will be expected to:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera.
  • Identify and monitor the project’s critical path to ensure timely execution.
  • Coordinate planning efforts across teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Track planned versus actual activities to measure progress and address variances.
  • Provide project deadlines to all relevant teams and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Establish and maintain accurate cash flow curves for financial tracking.
  • Ensure project planning adheres to established project management standards.
  • Consolidate all relevant information to enable detailed tracking of project phases.
  • Generate weekly (or as needed) progress reports and performance indicators.
  • Detail planning activities in the project’s monthly progress report.
  • Facilitate the sharing of key project data, including deadlines, critical path status, time gaps, and analysis of delivery impacts.
  • Attend planning and site meetings as required.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project and Primavera P6
  • Previous planner experience on heavy civil projects within Canada - tunnelling experience a major asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering a major an asset
  • 4+ years’ experience working on major heavy civil construction projects

COMPENSATION

  • Salary $120,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
  • RRSP matching at 5%
  • 4 weeks’ vacation
  • 100% health and dental coverage covered by employer from day 1
  • Discretional bonuses
  • Hybrid working arrangement
