Are you a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional looking for a dynamic opportunity? Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant for a 24-month contract, with strong potential for a permanent role.

About the Position
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team on a 24-month contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong fixed asset management expertise and a background in large-scale ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, reconciliations, asset tracking, and internal controls, supporting the company’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation:
    • Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements and reports for monthly consolidation, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and company policies.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
    • Perform daily bank postings and reconciliations across multiple accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Accounts Receivable Management:
    • Support the Chief Accountant in managing AR aging reports, preparing statements of accounts, and ensuring accurate collections processing.
  • Fixed Asset Management:
    • Oversee end-to-end fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization, reclassification, depreciation, impairments, disposals, and asset tracking.
    • Ensure accurate fixed asset register maintenance, reconciling asset balances with general ledger records.
    • Collaborate with project and operations teams to analyze asset acquisitions, project costing, and capital expenditure reporting.
    • Conduct periodic fixed asset audits to verify asset existence, condition, and compliance with company policies.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for capital expenditures (CapEx) to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • ERP & Financial Systems Expertise:
    • Work extensively with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent, ensuring seamless integration of financial transactions and reporting.
    • Leverage ERP functionalities to automate financial reporting, streamline workflows, and improve process efficiencies.
    • Provide system-based solutions for data extraction, financial analysis, and process optimization.
    • Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding company assets.
  • Audit & Financial Review Support:
    • Prepare audit-ready fixed asset schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
    • Work closely with external auditors by providing explanations and evidence for financial transactions.
  • Month-End & Quarter-End Closing:
    • Assist in preparing accrual and prepayment reports, reconciling key accounts, and ensuring timely month-end close.
    • Lead the quarterly expected credit loss (ECL) calculations and provisions analysis.
  • Process Improvements & Automation:
    • Identify and implement best practices to enhance financial reporting accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation (or progress toward CPA) is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive experience in fixed asset management, including asset capitalization, reclassification, depreciation, and asset audits.
    • Strong background in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
    • Prior experience in a large-scale organization with a complex financial structure is required.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent (experience in implementing or optimizing ERP modules is a strong asset).
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
    • Ability to extract and analyze large data sets using ERP tools and reporting dashboards.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
    • Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with finance teams, auditors, and operational departments.
    • Ability to present financial insights to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
    • Attention to Detail & Deadline Management: Highly organized with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

  • $90,000-$100,000 - potential for more depending on experience - will require director approval
  • Hybrid working - 3 days working in office (this typically starts after the probation period or once your training period is over)
