Senior Accountant

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Based in Downtown Vancouver, our client is a private commercial real estate lender, with a focus on providing first and second mortgage financing to real estate developers and investors in Canada and US.

Currently, they’re looking to add an experienced CPA to their accounting team, the ideal candidate has 4+ years of relevant experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director, the senior accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all the key stakeholders.
• Be a key contributor to the monthly loan funding process, including managing capital calls and funding to borrowers.
• Prepare investment return calculations and investor statements.
• Process and analyze any complex non-recurring transactions.
• Process annual tax returns.
• Work in collaboration with external auditors for year-end audit and tax work.
• Review all the loan and other related legal agreements to assess accounting impact.
• Ad hoc duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Designated CPA
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Fund accounting or experience working with a financial institution is an asset.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary expectations: $85,000 to $100,000
• 3 weeks vacation
• Discretionary bonus and RRSP matching
