Senior Real Estate Lawyer

A longstanding and highly reputable firm in the heart of downtown Vancouver has recently expanded into the Langley area, and continuing with that momentum, they are seeking a senior real estate lawyer to join their growing business. With the firm's established portfolio of clients ready to be handed over, this opportunity offers an excellent platform for an experienced real estate lawyer looking to build his/her own practice.

A well-established firm in Vancouver for nearly 2 decades, our client has grown from a boutique to a full-service firm with over 20 fee earners across multiple disciplines. A previous winner of the CBA Work Life Balance award, they pride themselves on their friendly and supportive environment with an emphasis on teamwork and mentorship. The leaders are highly involved in their community and invest heavily on the growth, wellbeing and professional development of the team.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The firm is looking to add a senior real estate lawyer to their Langley office location. This is a key hire for them as they are looking to entrust an established book of corporate clients with the incoming incumbent. The work would involve advising on various commercial real estate transactions, drafting and reviewing contracts of properties at various stages of development, and providing sound business advice. This could be an excellent opportunity for a senior associate looking to grow into partnership.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 8-year call to the BC Bar
• Be comfortable with a billing target of 1600
• Solid experience handling commercial real estate matters
• Portable book of business not required, but a strong plus
• Some experience mentoring or managing team members

COMPENSATION

• $180,000+ annual salary; commensurate with experience
• Lucrative bonus structure - discretionary bonus with the potential to earn up 50% of billed and collected once exceeding billable target
• Comprehensive benefits package
