Sr Project Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior project accountant who is looking for a new challenge!

About hte client:
Impact Recruitment has partnered with a boutique, full-service real estate development, construction, and property management firm based in downtown Vancouver. With over $2 billion in projects, they are recognized for making a meaningful difference in the communities they serve. Currently, they are looking to add a Senior Project Accountant to their team for an 18-month contract role.

About the position:
Reporting to the project accounting manager, the senior project accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Prepare monthly loan draws and work with quantity surveyor for the projects.
• Prepare internal and external reporting packages, i.e., job costs and partner reports.
• Full cycle accounting and bank reconciliation for the assigned development and construction projects.
• Maintain project proforma and ensure actual costs are updated.
• Work with vendors for outstanding invoices, process contracts and purchase orders.
• Review annual tax filings for project entities and prepare GST/PST tax returns.
• Record journal entries and preparing monthly financial statements for project entities.
• Monitor and maintain project cashflow from pre-development to completion
• Ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 3+ year of project accounting experience
• Diploma or degree in accounting
• Experience working with loan draws and construction/development projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $85,000 to $95,000
• Extended health and dental benefits
• 3 weeks’ vacation
• Discretionary bonus and tuition reimbursement
• Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days from home.
