Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $41.42 to $55.91
About the Job:
The Registered Nurse:
• Provides nursing care to patients in a variety of clinical settings, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
Rural community hospitals provide a wide range of services and depending on the location may require the Registered Nurse to be competent in multiple clinical settings. We typically hire rural general nurses to work in Emergency, Perinatal or Operating Room departments. Appropriate advanced preparation in the clinical setting is required.
Our typical nursing schedules are based on 12 hour shifts and include Days and Nights with rotating days off.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area as required by the position:
* Emergency: Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years
* Perinatal: Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience. Current Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 2 years. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years
* Operation Room: Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perioperative nursing) and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
