Position Summary
This posting encompasses all Occupational Therapists career opportunities throughout Kamloops, B.C. We have permanent full time or part-time positions, and relief positions available!

Occupational Therapists play a crucial part in providing assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education to residents/clients and/or their caregivers. Operating within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, an Occupational Therapist makes a substantial contribution to promote functional independence and enable residents/clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.

WHAT WE OFFER

Pay: Effective April 2024 hourly wage are $42.56 to $52.96 per hour. Recognition of previous experience in determining starting salary.

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) stands as a prominent healthcare institution serving the interior region of B.C. Renowned for its comprehensive medical services and commitment to excellence, RIH offers a wide range of specialized care, including emergency medicine, surgery, maternity services, cancer care, and mental health support. With its state-of-the-art facilities, skilled healthcare professionals, and dedication to patient-centered care, the hospital provides residents with access to high-quality healthcare close to home.

Hillside Centre is an acute tertiary mental health facility providing highly specialized care for adults aged 19 and older with complex and severe mental illnesses, including neurocognitive disorders. The 47-bed facility is comprised of 12 geriatric beds, 10 provincial neuropsychiatric beds, and 25 adult beds. As a regional tertiary centre, HLS caters to patients referred from across the Interior and Northern region, while also supporting the provincial UBC Neuropsychiatry Program. The centre's experienced multidisciplinary team aims to thoroughly assess patients, stabilize their symptoms, and return them to their home communities using a trauma-informed approach.

Ponderosa Lodge embodies the spirit of care, compassion, and community, providing seniors with a supportive and enriching environment where they can live their best lives in their golden years. This modern assisted living facility offers a warm and welcoming environment where residents can enjoy the comforts of home alongside personalized support services.

The Kamloops Seniors Health & Wellness Centre provides specialized short-term care (four to eight weeks) for seniors referred by their family doctor, nurse practitioner, or specialist. Patient partners have helped inform staff orientation at this centre to better understand the needs and experiences of older adults. This is a clinic worksite with occasional home visits.

Kamloops Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services and partner agencies provide a range of mental health and substance use services for all ages striving to ensure that services are welcoming of all peoples, gender identities, cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds.

• Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professions of British Columbia (CHCPBC) [formerly College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)]. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Valid Driver’s license.
