About the Job:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Float position on Aberdeen Short Stay unit. The duties of this positions consists of admissions and wound care, in addition to helping out teams with any other duties as required.

This is a RELIEF PART-TIME (0.89 FTE) opportunity until June 27, 2026, or return of the incumbent. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and evenings; rotating from 10:00 to 17:30, 13:00 to 20:30 hours.

About this location/unit:

Cottonwoods Care Centre is a 213 bed, one-storey building centrally located on Ethel Street in beautiful Kelowna, BC. The original building was completed in 1976, and in 1984 an addition was completed bringing the facility to its current state occupying 156,080 square feet.

The Aberdeen Unit (Short Stay Unit) has 60 Short Stay beds including 1 respite bed.

Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

• Current CPR certification required
