Your Role:
As a Pharmacist, you will provide essential distribution pharmacy services by interpreting medication orders and prescriptions, assessing them for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring efficient and accurate dispensing or compounding. You will be responsible for the complete and accurate labeling of medications and maintaining comprehensive dispensing records. You will communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. Additionally, you will provide instructions on proper use, administration, storage, disposal, and potential side effects of prescribed and self-selected medications.

Beyond dispensing duties, you will participate in data collection for medication use evaluation projects and implement dispensary-based medication safety initiatives and quality control activities. Your role includes contributing to internal publications and participating in clinical drug trials, adhering to established standards and procedures. You will utilize a computerized medication information system to interpret and dispense medications in compliance with legal, professional, and departmental policies. By referring to standardized references, interpreting laboratory data, and reviewing patient-specific demographics, you will assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability and ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Qualfications
• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
