Position Summary
The Vernon Health Centre has an immediate opening for a relief (temporary) Registered Social Worker (Masters). This position works Monday to Friday from 08:00-16:00. This position is expected to run until January 31, 2026 or the return of the current incumbent.

About the position:

Primary care networks are community-based networks of health care professionals and clinics who plan and deliver all day-to-day health care needs of a community. Within these networks teams of providers work together closely. In this is way, patients receive better care, by the right person, at the right time, closer to home.

Typical job duties and responsibilities include:

• Provides comprehensive therapeutic clinical counseling services to patients and families in the assigned clinical area.
• Conducts comprehensive social work and psychosocial assessments of patients and families using various modalities, adhering to professional standards, clinical policies, and practices.
• Educates and provides consultation to patients and families.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care planning for the effective utilization of patient resources.
• Participates in employer programs and initiatives, including clinical rounds, research activities, quality improvement, team conferences, meetings, and the development of new policies, procedures, and standards for care/program delivery.
• Develops, coordinates, and delivers in-services, presentations, psycho-educational, and support groups for patients and families based on identified needs.
• Coordinates administrative tasks related to the provision of care as required.

Qualfications
Masters Degree of Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work.
Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers
One year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current valid BC Driver’s License
