Department: Human Resource Services

Job Type: Temporary (up to 12 months), 35 hours per week

Location: Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board Education Centre

Salary: $51,816 - $58,186 per annum

Start Date: As soon as possible

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) offers a world-class education for approximately 35,000 students in 87 schools. All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the school’s priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.

Main Responsibilities:

Provides support to the Human Resource Services department in the areas of Recruitment, Staffing, Labour Relations, Health & Safety, Absence and Data Management, and Employee Health Services.

Provides administrative support including receiving/distributing mail, minute taking, coordination of meetings and drafting communications as required.

Responds to employee inquiries through applicable emails, telephone, and in-person.

Assists with the maintenance and organization of the file room and personnel records including filing of hard copy documents in accordance with the applicable records management policies.

Acts as liaison between benefit plan administrators and employees including providing benefit plan administrator’s with the mandatory reports and follows up on inquiries resulting from the reports.

Provides support for employee benefits including enrolments and terminations, preparing LTD remittance and retirement gratuities for payment.

Actions the offence declaration process each year by sending out reminders through the HRIS system and tracks incomplete declarations.

Acts as a backup for the Absence Dispatch Operator when required.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary college certificate completed in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent education.

Minimum of one (1) year of related experience working in a Human Resources environment.

Specialized Skills Required:

Advanced level skills and experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and HRIS information systems.

Ability to work with data, analyze and manipulate data for a variety of applications.

A commitment to service excellence.

Excellent organization and interpersonal skills as well as ability to function as part of a team.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset.

Experience with K212 HR information systems considered an asset.

Experience with Apply to Education would be considered an asset.
