POSITION SUMMARY

You will assist designated students with activities of a special program, planning and preparing materials and activities, providing observation and assessment data, record keeping, care and assistance, medically necessary interventions (i.e. catheterization, suctioning), and other related duties as may be assigned by the Principal or to work under the direction of the school Principal and classroom teacher, assisting the teacher with activities and such other related duties as may be assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have an Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent, as well as one of the following: Diploma in Teacher Aide Program, Child Care Worker Program, Developmental Services Worker Program, Children’s Services Program, Early Childhood Education Program, Ontario Teacher Certification, or an equivalent diploma or certificate program as determined by the Board. Behaviour Management System (BMS) training is preferred. Placement in this position will be for the 2024/2025 school year only and is subject to the following: the continued attendance of the pupil(s) involved, the continued need for an assistant, and any program changes deemed necessary by the Board. The Board reserves the right to assign personnel to positions.
