POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for interpreting and administering all collective agreements, relevant legislation and regulations, including collective bargaining preparation activities and industrial relations. The Human Resources Officer is also responsible for conducting recruitment and absence management, developing HR procedures and policies, assisting with pay equity, managing of personal records and HR technologies and providing manager and employee support.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A college diploma from a recognized institution required. A university degree and/or a focus on Human Resources or employee/labour relations from a recognized institution is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources or employee/labour relations is required, 5 years of experience is preferred. Human Resources experience in a School Board setting is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant labour/employment regulations and legislation, collective bargaining agreements and human resources information systems (HRIS)
