Our Family Office team is rapidly growing, and we are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and client-service centric Manager to support our evolving practice and drive engagements in our Greater Vancouver Area offices. Reporting to the Family Office Leader in the Greater Vancouver Area, this role is instrumental in facilitating day-to-day efficiencies, and helping with the growth and strategic evolution of our practice in the region and nationally.

 


What you will do

The successful candidate will support and be accountable for the delivery of a best in class service offering and contribute to the overall strategy of deepening client relationships and expanding our KPMG Family Office practice.

 

 

The individual will be responsible for the following key business domains and initiatives:

 

 

Client engagement – Project management and support

  • Assist and prepare materials for discovery processes, prospect and solution meetings, client presentations and other planning and project management activities.
  • Support the Family Office team with managing client relationships, coordinating client/family meetings, communication, and other deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of high impact client engagement materials and deliverables.
  • Support the proposal and pursuits process by liaising with the Family Office practice, the proposal team and other KPMG professionals and subject matter experts.
  • Acts as the day-to-day Project coordinator for family office engagements ensuring a smooth delivery, timely billing, risk administration and oversee maintenance of client files.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure engagements and client onboarding are processed accordingly.
  • Support the Family Office team in managing COI relationships, including communication and correspondence, meetings and events coordination.
  • Collaborate with other KPMG Tax, Audit, Legal and advisory professionals to ensure a consistent, reliable, and integrated approach for clients.
  • Help ensure that client correspondence, documentation and relevant information are organized and properly recorded and updated in our internal processing systems and trackers
  • Create budgets for new engagements and share with client teams for review

 

Team collaboration and administrative support

  • Collaborate with internal teams and lead planning & execution of events, webinars, thought leadership.
  • Act as the point-of-contact for the local marketing team and as the champion to new content, updating the Family Office portal, customizing content etc.
  • Support the Family Office team in their business development and go-to market initiatives, including drafting internal communication, preparing meeting materials, etc.
  • Maintain and update databases, such as MS Teams site, server structures, documentation, and other reporting in support of the Family Office team
  • Manage the Wins & Pipeline tracking (audit and ensure alignment with budgets, new wins etc.)
  • Revenue tracking and support with developing reports
  • Track AR report – resolve any issues with invoices that are unpaid for +30-days
  • Manage Invoicing for all clients (analyze WIP against budget on a monthly basis and review with engagement teams)
    • Make recommendations for future budgets to support improved hour estimates (e.g., where is time being spent under/over budget)
  • Share WIP status with engagement team on a monthly basis

Brand ambassador

  • Act as a brand ambassador to KPMG Family Office. Help maintain a strong presence in the market and enhance our brand recognition and reputation.
  • Maintain and stay up to date of Family Office topics and develop high-level knowledge of KPMG Family Office pillars services as well as broader KPMG services and solutions.

What you bring to the role

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high bar for client service excellence along with a passion in working with some of the most successful business families/entrepreneurs and HNW families. Furthermore, given the client centric service nature of KPMG Family Office, it is of critical importance that this individual can demonstrate the following qualities:

 

Market/client focus

  • Understanding of family office services, and of the needs and issues that high-net-worth individuals and their families face.
  • Effective, versatile, action-oriented, and service-oriented
  • Knowledge or experience in different business sectors and industries.
  • Natural curiosity and resourcefulness to execute on new ideas with pragmatism.
  • Deep understanding of importance of absolute discretion and confidentiality

Relationship building

  • Solid aptitude for building trusting relationships with broad group of stakeholders, prospects, and clients as well as diverse family members.
  • Ability to manage relationships and exercise excellent judgement.
  • Ability to cultivate and build rapport internally across all national functions, levels, and translate those relationships into value for the local practice.

Personal and leadership skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, and a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Robust organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Sound financial literacy and strong business acumen is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.

 

Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in client relationship management or consulting for businesses and enterprise/private clients
    • Bachelor’s degree/post graduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA, MBA, STEP designations or candidacy desirable.
    • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience in consulting and/or working with professional services firms an asset.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,500 to $128,500  and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
