We're seeking a candidate who can navigate the intricate world of Canadian and US personal and payroll tax services, providing exceptional service to our multinational clients. But that's not all. This role also involves navigating various technical, administrative, and support functions related to our clients' expatriate tax programs with our Global Practice hubs.

What you will do

  • Work closely with our senior team members to lead client engagements, and assist with client planning opportunities, tax strategies, and compliance.
  • Contribute to the lifecycle of individual Canadian and/or US tax compliance as a preparer or reviewer, including consulting, payroll, tax returns, tax equalizations, tax authority processing and inquiries.  
  • Provide excellent client service as part of the tax engagement team in servicing the advisory and compliance needs of our multi-national clients.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients with your superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Build relationships with our team, global network, and clients.
  • Provide mentoring for the professional development of junior staff

 


What you bring to the role

  • Accounting or Business diploma or degree.  
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office – Excel experience is required, Alteryx is valuable.
  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills allowing effective interaction with client and team.
  • Self-motivation and enthusiastic with a desire to learn.
  • Good understanding of Canadian or US personal tax
  • Account financial management
  • Data and Analytics and/or AI experience is valuable

The following skills and behaviors would be beneficial but not necessary:

  • Canadian Professional designation (CPA)
  • US Professional designation (US CPA or EA)
  • Language skills – French or Mandarin
  • Experience specializing in cross-border Canadian and US personal tax preparation.
