Posting Overview:

Reporting to the International Education Administrator, the ESL Instructor is responsible for delivering instruction online to students (age 15-17), living in Taiwan, taking part in the 2+1 Program. This is an online instructor position.

The LKDSB collaborates with a school in Taiwan to provide ESL and Academic English preparation series. The Non-Credit ESL Instructor will be expected to provide classes online in the evening (morning in Taiwan). The Non-Credit ESL Instructor will follow all policies and procedures of the LKDSB and will receive direction from and be supported by the International Education Academic Coordinator.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Ontario qualifications is an asset;

• University Degree with a major in English is an asset;

• Experience with alternative education programs is an asset;

• Experience with special education programs is an asset;

• Experience with Microsoft Office, teaching online tools, and Pear Deck is an asset;

• Possess excellent written and presentation skills;

• Possess the ability to relate to and assess students, design student program pathways, and assist students as necessary.

February 7, 14, 21, and 28

March 7, 21, and 28

April 4, 11, and 25

May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30

June 6, 13, and 20

Schedule: 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (after time change this will be 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.)

Rate of pay - $31.85 per hour

Instructors are compensated for 2 hours of prep/marking per week plus 6 hours following the final class for reporting purposes.
