Posting Overview:
This position will provide clerical support and assistance to the System Coordinator of Student Support Services/Well-Being, the Manager of Psychological Services, the Supervisor of Social Work, and the Student Support Services Coordinators and Psychoeducational Clinicians.
In addition, the following areas will be supported:
• Initial Identification, Placement and Review Committee; (IPRC) for north schools;
• Grade 8 to 9 North Central IPRC's;
• JK to Grade 12 - North IPRC files in Elite;
• Central IPRC's - North;
• North statistics for Special Education and Psychology;
• Records Management; SIP Claims - North;
• Processing psychological assessments;
• Preschool Intake Process - North and South;
• Behaviour Management Systems Training Tracking and organization;
• Providing clerical support to the Itinerant teams.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Post secondary education, one year diploma in a related field;
• Some post-secondary training in a computer skills discipline that includes spreadsheet development would be an asset.
Other Key Skills & Knowledge:
• knowledge and understanding of Student Support Services policies, administrative procedures and processes;
• knowledge and understanding of the IPRC process/Elite Software for IEP/Aspen database in order to maintain confidential records and files, track data, contact schools, maintain lists, prepare packages for schools, etc.;
• excellent clerical skills in order to; keyboard 40 wpm minimum, maintain and initiate files, manage records, track information, compose correspondence, proofread documents, distribute information, compile and prepare reports, etc.;
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact positively and effectively with all staff, parents, outside agencies, etc.;
• excellent judgement, tact and diplomacy in order to respond to numerous queries of a sensitive and confidential nature from a variety of sources;
• excellent organization and time management skills in order to meet deadlines;
• demonstrated team member in order to work effectively with department and all other staff;
• proficiency with Microsoft Office, Aspen, K212, Elite Software, eBase, PD Place, Staff Intranet;
• previous Special Education experience is a definite asset;
• knowledge of Aspen is a definite asset;
• all other duties as assigned by the System Coordinator of Student Support Services and the Manager of Psychological Services.
Position Effective Date & Length
Temporary, 12 month, 35 hours/week
Level 4 - $27.84/hour - $29.41/hour
