Currently, we operate 28 schools across 19 communities, offering PreK-12, elementary, high school, and alternate school programs. Our student population is approximately 5,300, and our diverse schools provide a variety of programs to meet both the Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and the local needs of our communities.

Living Sky School Division is seeking to contract a Tutor to support students with learning disabilities by providing online tutoring using the Barton Reading Program . The contract will start as soon as possible and last approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The position requires 5 hours of work per day, Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays.

The Barton Reading Program is designed to assist school-aged children with reading disabilities, such as dyslexia. It focuses on improving reading, writing, and spelling skills through personalized one-on-one tutoring. The program uses the proven Orton-Gillingham method , which teaches the phonemic structure of the English language using a multi-sensory approach. This method engages visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic senses to support learners who benefit from a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience. The individualized nature of the program ensures that each student progresses at their own pace, addressing their unique literacy needs effectively.

While prior experience with the Barton Program is preferred, we welcome applications from candidates who are eager to learn. Training will be offered to ensure that all tutors, regardless of previous experience, are equipped to effectively deliver the program.
