As we continue to grow, we're looking for a forward-thinking, results-driven Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic team and support our growth in the Alberta region.

 

Please note: To be considered for this position, applicants will reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work.

 

The Opportunity:
The Senior HRBP will play a pivotal role in aligning human resources strategy with business goals. As the primary point of contact in the region,
you will support our leaders to determine priorities, challenges and opportunities, designing and implementing best-in-class people solutions aligned with our strategy, to meet and exceed our goals and objectives.

Special Note: In the first 90 days, our ideal candidate has the ability to be on-site at our branches at least 3 days a week to establish relationships with managers and employees. After the first 90 days, the ideal candidate would establish a schedule based on branch and regional needs.  Our branches are in:  Calgary, Edmonton, Leduc, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and Taber.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

As a Sr. HRBP, you’ll collaborate with our Regional and National Operations Team as well as our National People and Culture team in the following key responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic HR Partner: Collaborate with our Regional and Branch Managers to understand, implement and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives.

 

  • Employee Relations Serve as a trusted advisor and provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.

 

  • HR Policy and Compliance: Proficiency in current employment laws and regulations, ensuring HR policies, practices, and programs are compliant. Conduct investigations when necessary and recommend appropriate actions to address issues. Train and provide guidance to managers to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Talent Management: Manage talent development and succession planning initiatives. Implement effective performance management processes including coaching, mentoring, and career development plans.
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace and foster a positive employee experience through support and implementation of our people and culture initiatives that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being.
  • Learning and Development: Partner with Regional leaders and our Learning and Development partner to identify training needs, to design and/or utilize existing training resources to meet business needs.  Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success in the Alberta region.
  • HR Analytics: Utilize HRIS data and metrics to identify trends, provide insights, and drive data-informed decision-making related to employee engagement, performance, and retention. Proficiency in Dayforce and Power BI a plus.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to HR team members, ensuring a high level of performance and professional growth.
  • Change Management: Support the business in managing organizational change, ensuring a positive employee experience during periods of growth and change

Qualifications:

  • A post secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree a plus). HR Certification a plus.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a HRBP role; Proficient in talent and performance management, employee relations, change management, and fostering a high-performance collaborative culture a plus.
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to quickly understand business strategies and translate them into people strategies.
  • Proven ability to build trust and relationships across all levels of the business and have productive tough conversations that include delivering positive and improvement feedback.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of provincial and federal laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships with leaders
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven experience in a high-growth or dynamic business environment, preferably within the equipment rental, construction, or related industries.
