Group Summary:
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own product design and development per customer requirements.
  • Maintain records related to product and tool design.
  • Organize CAD information and support technical reviews.
  • Manage DVP&R and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct formal design reviews and manage characteristic mapping.
  • Coordinate FMVSS/DVP&R test validations.
  • Handle technical communication, including design reviews and patent applications.
  • Ensure products meet manufacturability and performance objectives.
  • Develop quotations and understand manufacturing costs.
  • Create GD&T for assembly and components.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on APQP documentation.
  • Innovate in product design and process ideas.
  • Liaise with customers on design, feasibility, and engineering changes.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required / or relevant experience with mechanical assembly, welded, stamped, and/or wireform products.
  • The ability to create and interpret complex blueprints with an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is required.
  • Ability to learn and use Catia V5 is a requirement. UG NX knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Ansys-Nonlinear FEA a definite asset.
  • Ability to create DVP&R, DFMEA/ Support PFMEA and Support Control plan requirements for product and process.
  • Ability to travel as required (US, Europe, Japan and China).
  • Experience launching products with automotive OEMs is an asset.
