Maple Leaf Foods announced that it will be separating into two independent public companies. The new Pork Company; Canada Packers will be unleashed as a world leading organization producing sustainable meats. Treasury and Liquidity Management
- Manage the companys capital structure to ensure ongoing funding requirements are met and at the lowest possible cost while maintaining operational flexibility. This will be achieved through in-depth capital market monitoring, lender relationship management and opportunistic and proactive financing activities. The Companys capital structure will include syndicated bank credit facilities, operating leases and cash balances.
- The company's long-term debt will consist of a sustainability linked credit facility including a revolving line of credit and term loan.
- Provide leadership to the Treasury team in directing operational cash management, cash forecasting, custodial arrangements, preparing internal and external financial reporting for treasury activities.
- Lead thinking in establishing new benchmarks for working capital for the the Company.
- Accountable for credit reviews and decisions regarding major customers.
- In partnership with the commodity risk management team, lead the design and oversight of financial risk management including strategic policy development, appropriate risk measurement and tolerance methodology and the control framework.
- Provide leadership in monitoring policy compliance, the management of currency and interest rate exposures, implementation of related policies and controls throughout the Company, ensuring appropriate accounting for risk management activities.
- Develop corporate credit policy and provide leadership to operating finance teams in execution and compliance.
- Advise and recommend on funding matters.
- Provide leadership in the investment of pension assets, which includes managing the relationship with the Companys Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO)

- CA, CPA or equivalent designation, having worked in several finance leadership positions in the past.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of treasury operations, ranging from cash pooling to working capital management, external funding (short and long term), foreign exchange trading and risk management, pensions, planning & analysis, and accounting & controls.
