Purpose

To perform maintenance, repair, and construction duties as a Welder within the Mobile Maintenance Team. To safely perform scheduled and unscheduled tasks to optimize equipment and system availability and to contribute to the performance of the Mobile Maintenance Team.
We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Essential Duties
  • Layout, fitting, cutting, welding, and fabricating
  • Follow OH&S, Mines Act, and Newmont Red Chris' policies and procedures
  • Able to work outdoors in severe conditions
  • Capable of work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Able to work day or night shift as required
  • Provide mentorship and assist in training of apprentices
  • Champion safe work practices
  • Assist other trades as required
Training & Experience
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Welder
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license required
  • Previous Machinist experience is considered a strong asset
  • Mining equipment experience required (rigid frame haul trucks, track dozers, small-large excavators)
  • Mining industry experience required
  • CWB structural certifications an asset
  • Overhead crane, Aerial Work Platform, Rigging certificates are an asset
  • Fabricating experience an asset
  • Experience living and working in remote camp environment
  • A team player that works well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Safety orientated mindset

The expected hourly wage for this role is CA$55.14/hour. This is tied to the local Collective Bargaining Agreement and the British Columbia market for jobs. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
