Timmins, ON
Reporting directly to the Project Director, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the environmental permitting process in alignment with site project development schedule.
The role will have responsibility and accountability to:
- Lead environmental permitting processes for site capital projects, ensuring full compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations.
- In partnership with the Manager of Sustainability and External Relations, liaison with regulatory agencies, local governments, and community stakeholders.
- Track and communicate progress on permitting approval and compliance to study requirements.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports and compliance documentation.
- Develop and manage a robust permitting schedule aligned with respective project timelines.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Coach and empower team members to work independently and deliver results.
- Support the resolution of grievances to address stakeholder concerns related to project work.
- Collaborate with regulators and partners to meet community commitments.
- Align team activities with community needs and business objectives.
- Foster an inclusive and safe environment, set clear objectives and KPIs, monitor progress, address performance gaps through coaching and feedback, remove bottlenecks, and inspire purpose-driven work aligned with community and stakeholder outcomes.
- Take ownership of responsibilities, seek and act on feedback, develop personal talents, collaborate with leaders to align skills with team objectives and community outcomes, and resolve conflicts constructively to strengthen team dynamics.
- Post secondary qualifications in Environmental Sciences, Public Administration, Community Development or a related field or relevant leadership experience.
- 10+ years of experience related to permitting, environmental projects or relevant experience.
- Experience with community relations, stakeholder engagement, grievance management and community project planning and management
- Experience with external engagement programs within communities, external bodies, and regulatory authorities.
- Experience participating in monitoring programs within local communities
- Knowledge of Project Management and Team Management
- Enterprise and Corporate Social Performance systems and standards
- Valid "G" driver's license
This is a site based position in Timmins, ON. As such, if you don't already live in the area, relocation is required.
The schedule is 4 days on 3 days off
