Our Red Chris Block Cave team is now recruiting for the position of Principal People Partner with a competitive base salary between 149,900-214,200, with additional long term and short term incentives. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies.The People Projects role will be based in the Vancouver hub until mid-2026 with regular site travel, transitioning to full-time FIFO rotational work thereafter
As a Principal People Partner, you will lead the People advisory and delivery across all people touchpoints for a Mega Project, from the Study phase through Execution. Your expertise in change management, project talent acquisition, workforce planning, proactive skills development interventions, transition and exit planning, employee relations, project reporting and systems to deliver a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce, supporting the project’s success.
• Partner with the Project GM and key project stakeholders from Project Study phase into Execution including change management
• Develop ramp up people strategy for the Project, including: resourcing strategy, recruitment approach, onboarding plan, training plan, upskilling employee for project/future operational roles, Project compensation plan in partnership with COE, roster cycles and related people plans.
• Design and implement systems and guidelines required for project delivery
• Develop Project specific labour and employee relations strategy & implementation plan in partnership with regional IR lead
• Agree EPCM org structure and plan and manage associated personnel approvals (personnel requisitions), including periodic rate increases and ensure in line with plan.
• Collaborate with EPCM and other third party contract HR managers regarding people plan and issues resolution, ensuring compliance with Labour relations and site protocols
• Review contractor Labour Relations management practices and indigenous employment plans to ensure compliance with Newmont commitments (regulatory and other)
• Provides HR Operational support and owns end to end resolution, ensuring consistency and alignment with Business Unit standards & procedures
• Supporting health, safety and wellbeing initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant workforce.
• Transacts people lifecycle processes with support of service center
• Work collaboratively with leaders and employees to guarantee labor availability
• Embed Communication and Performance Management processes
• Enable and embed Inclusion, Diversity and Equity programs and agreed upon actions to achieve goals
• Investigate Non-escalated Business Integrity and Compliance cases and deliver Respect at Work initiatives
• A tertiary qualification/Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• HR leadership experience in mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of employee life cycle tactical HR interventions.
• Expertise in change management, labor law compliance, stakeholder management, HR operations, performance and capability development.
• Strong data analysis, project management, and change management skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Based in Vancouver until mid-2026 with regular site travel, transitioning to full-time FIFO rotational work thereafter
• Work closely with Project Leadership, EPCM contractors, and HR teams.
• Fast-paced environment focused on execution, collaboration, and compliance.
