Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Production Geologist, the primary responsibility of the Production Geology Supervisor is to mentor, train, and supervise the production geology team, as a member of the Technical Services Leadership Team.

Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of production geology team
  • Provide effective grade control of the underground mine
  • Liaise with Engineering and Mining Departments to optimize grade control and operational efficiency
  • Manage interpretation and modeling of deposit geology
  • Design and manage delineation drilling programs
  • Contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasts
  • Compilation and reporting of daily and monthly reconciliation reports
  • Provide direction, training and mentorship to production geologists
Requirements
  • 4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in production geology
  • Registration as a Professional Geologist, or eligibility for registration required
  • Knowledge of Vulcan, AcQuire, and Dewsik software would be a definite asset
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 76 lbs
  • Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Team player with a willingness to work with a multicultural team of multiple disciplines
  • Committed to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is 14 days on, 14 days off, working 12-hour days.
