About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Purpose

Your Impact

As a Mine Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible day to day operations of the underground mine at the Brucejack Mine Site.

Through guidance and consultation with the Mine Superintendents this position ensures all Underground/Site Activities adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations as well as all company standards/policies and procedures.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Champion safety by role modeling, coaching, and conducting weekly compliance inspections

  • Support underground mine planning and guide contractor activities to meet Newmont standards

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure achievable weekly plans and resolve constraints

  • Oversee contractor performance, daily crew planning, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Lead daily meetings and provide coaching on plan communication and safety leadership

  • Manage Mine Dispatch operations, ensuring accurate PITRAM data and reporting

  • Investigate incidents thoroughly, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely closure

  • Maintain SOPs, coordinate training with updated matrices, and support crew development

  • Handle scheduling, labor planning, and daily reporting including variance and timesheets

  • Support capital projects from scope to execution, procurement, and progress tracking

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Unwavering commitment to safety and environmental values
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the mining industry, including 1+ years in a supervisory role
  • Possess a BC Underground Shift Boss Ticket or be able to obtain one
  • Demonstrated management abilities in both technical and operational settings
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Possess a valid First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to build an operations team and foster a team mentality
  • Strong leadership skills with a team-building mentality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Remote camp setting with private accommodations provided
  • Onsite meals, gym, recreation, and entertainment facilities
  • Travel allowance and transportation arrangements included
  • Rotational schedule: 13 days on / 13 days off
  • Drug & alcohol-free workplace (pre-employment testing required)

We are now recruiting for the position of Mine Supervisor with a competitive annual base salary of $103,275-137,700 plus incentives. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. The expected salary range for this role is CA$103,275-137,700 / year + 10% STIP . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
