Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Your Impact

Our Red Chris site is now recruiting for the position of Team Lead Health, Safety and Emergency Response with a competitive base salary between 103,000-137,000 with an additional short-term incentive. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity.

As a Team Lead in Health, Safety & Emergency Response, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring workplace safety, leading emergency preparedness, and guiding teams through proactive risk management. Your leadership will directly contribute to a safer, more responsive work environment for everyone on site.

As Part of Our Team You Will
  • Lead and execute safety programs and emergency response plans

  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Mentor Emergency Response Advisors and safety staff

  • Guide incident investigations and recommend corrective actions

  • Coordinate real-time support during emergencies

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for health and safety

  • Report safety metrics to internal and external stakeholders

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and CRSP designation (or in progress)

  • Canadian Mine Rescue certification (required)

  • NFPA 1001, 1801, and Hazmat Operations training (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of BC HSRC, WorkSafeBC, and incident investigation tools

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and emergency response software

  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills

  • ICS 300 certification is an asset

Training & Experience

This is a site-based role in a dynamic mining operation. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams in both field and office settings, balancing strategic oversight with on-the-ground engagement. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and offers continuous learning opportunities. This is a FIFO opportunity working on a 15X13 schedule.
