Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of



TEACHER - LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)

ST. JOSEPH-SCOLLARD HALL

0.2 FTE (Fridays)

Grade 10 Hairstyling and Aesthetics - TXJ2O (two sections)

Grade 11 Hairstyling and Aesthetics - TXJ3E



Effective March 21, 2025

Until approximately April 25, 2025, but not to extend beyond June 27, 2025



Mandatory Requirements:

· A member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing

· Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions - Technological Education (Hairstyling and Aesthetics); or candidates with pending or Transitional Certificate of qualifications in Hairstyling and Aesthetics, with Intermediate and Senior division qualifications



Preferred Requirements:

· Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions and subject areas

· A high degree of competency in health and safety standards that support the hairstyling and aesthetics program

· An understanding of the required safety measures as part of the Ministry of Education’s Student Injury Prevention Initiative

· Strong background and five years of experience using a variety of hairstyling and aesthetics materials, processes, tools and equipment in the field

· Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents

· Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices

· Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner

· Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the school Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLC’s, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching

· Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support effective instruction, equity and inclusion

· Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum

· Flexibility to be assigned in other subject areas as the need arises

· Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies

· Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties

· Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school community
