K-12 LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION LEARNING & INNOVATION

The Nisga'a School District No. 92 is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and visionary senior educational leader to join our team as the Director of Instruction Learning & Innovation. This role is ideal for an experienced leader committed to advancing educational excellence, fostering inclusive learning environments, and supporting the continuous growth and well-being of all learners.

Located in the majestic Nass Valley in Northwestern British Columbia, the Nisga'a School District encompasses the traditional treaty territory of the Nisga'a Nation. Role Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, the Director of Instruction Learning and Innovation is part of the senior leadership team who work collaboratively to support the success of all learners. The successful candidate is an accomplished, engaged and relational leader who is focused on creating impact for learners and inspiring shared responsibility throughout the district.

Key Responsibilities

Leading implementation of K-12 curriculum and instruction, ensuring alignment with provincial standards and innovative instructional practices to meet the learning needs of all learners

Oversee the administration, interpretation and use of student achievement data to increase the use of data to inform instruction

Providing leadership in developing programs related to social/emotional learning, mental health and well- being

Connecting and networking with local educators, schools, and regional/provincial networks in support of K-12 initiatives

Mentor and support new teachers and administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth

Identifying and supporting professional learning relating to education transformation

Lead technology initiatives, including developing a strategic long-range technology plan that enhances teaching and learning

Qualifications

BC Professional Teaching Certificate and a member in good standing with the Teacher Regulation Branch

Master's Degree (PhD preferred) in Education, Curriculum, or Instruction with a focus on educational leadership

Over 10 years of exemplary teaching and leadership experience in diverse K-12 settings, including district- level roles

Proven experience in leading inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs

Strong relational leadership skills with a focus on ethical decision-making, equity, and reconciliation

Enthusiasm, passion and dedication to the principles of lifelong learning opportunities that meet the needs of all learners

Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, strategic planning, and instructional improvement

The successful candidate will have demonstrated:

Leadership and strategic insight as part of a senior management team, fostering effective school and community relations

Ability to provide district leadership, strategic insight and policy direction as a member of senior management team

Proven success in K-12 leadership, with extensive experience in both classroom teaching and instructional improvement, including differentiated instruction for diverse learners

Expertise in implementing BC Curriculum and research-based strategies, with a focus on technology integration to enhance student learning

Strong skills in budget management, resource allocation, and policy direction aligned with the district's mission and vision

Commitment to social-emotional learning, student engagement, and continuous improvement through data- driven accountability systems

Experience in administering provincial, local and other assessments (e.g., FSA, CHEQ, MDI) to inform instructional practices and set district achievement goals

Deep respect for diversity, with a commitment to reconciliation and integrating Indigenous perspectives, particularly Nisga'a culture and history

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of positively influencing behavior and fostering collaborative environments

Compensation is aligned with the BCPSEA salary grid for exempt staff, which ranges between $171,749 - $184,676 annually.
