The Health Capital Investment Branch is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our Capital Programs and Standards Unit. This is a unique opportunity to drive the development of capital programs and operational funding initiatives related to health capital investments. This unit also leads the strategy for the hospital design standardization initiative.

About Us:
The Health Capital Investment Branch facilitates strategic investment decisions which link health system needs with health capital investments including hospitals and community projects; Develops and communicates leading-edge health capital policies and standards to stakeholders; Ensures capital projects are implemented in accordance with evidence-based best practices, policies and standards; Provides operational funding to hospitals following the completion of a capital project, and develops and implements risk management strategies for the lifecycle of projects.

Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities
Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement of its business goals. It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the team's daily actions with the strategic vision of the ministry.
In this role, you will:
• Lead a team of experienced professionals to develop and implement infrastructure-related programs and process changes to enhance health capital investments.
• Manage the design of tools, guidelines, best practices, and standards to facilitate capital development.
• Engage directly with senior executives in the health system on complex and impactful operating funding decisions following the completion of capital projects.
• Manage ongoing research of best practices through post-construction evaluation of projects and extra-jurisdictional research.
• Ensure the development and application of effective procurement policies and processes to measure and facilitate consistent compliance with sound practices within the capital planning process.
• Mentor a high-performing team, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development.
How do I qualify?Leadership Experience:• You have demonstrated leadership experience to build and motivate a team in achieving results on high-profile initiatives.
• You have incorporated the principles of inclusion and diversity across all elements of your management style.
• You have project management experience to lead, deliver and implement multiple, large scale and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment
• You have successfully led the design and development of creative, innovative programs, implementation plans, design standards and guidelines.
Technical Expertise:• You have an in-depth understanding of government policy development and decision-making processes.
• You understand hospital operations, including sector needs, care models, funding programs, and data reporting processes.
• You possess comprehensive knowledge of Ontario's health sector, including delivery models, funding mechanisms, legislation, policies, and key issues.
• You have experience in financial modeling and both public and private sector financing and investment frameworks.
• You understand the techniques of indicator selection and strategy-based performance measurement.
• You are proficient in various performance reporting approaches and their application to management control systems.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:• You have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills along with a strong sense of political acuity to deal with a variety of sensitive issues
• You are a strong negotiator who can influence others to find collaborative solutions for complex issues
• You have experience building and maintaining relationships with a cross-section of internal and external stakeholders to achieve a common understanding of and commitment to large scale initiatives at the local/ provincial level
• You have demonstrated superior written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to prepare briefing notes, presentations and make recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
