Description
The Web Publisher and UX Designer will assist in the creation, design, and execution of marketing materials across OTPP digital channels. This role requires a
balance of creative thinking, effective time management, and excellent attention to details.
This role will support the development and publication of online content for all OTPP digital channels, collaborating closely with all teams within the
Marketing & Communications department.
Who you'll work withThe Web Publisher and UX Designer will report to the Manager, Website Channel Management. They will have the ability to work cross-functionally across the OTPP team and integrate with IT and Product Delivery to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
What you'll doAssist in conception, design, and execution of digital design solutions that align to the Teachers’ brand strategy, while delivering on key objectives established
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and support on digital design and publishing tasks including but not limiting to website and intranet landing pages, site maps, user flow and wireframes, mobile layouts, new component libraries, email, and newsletter designs, organic and paid social posts, video publishing, digital signages, and screensavers
Develop and publish pages using the existing AEM component library, ensuring all content aligns with OTPP's brand and UX/UI guideline
Format, test, and publish content promptly, following editorial review and approval processes
Collaborate with the Integrated Planning team, attending weekly content calendar alignment meetings to ensure all content pieces are represented and coordinated for publishing
Ensure SEO best practices are followed in content design and execution, including designing UX visuals, subheads, image placement, and copy layout
Monitor website optimization tools to maintain web accessibility and SEO standards by repairing broken links, adding metadata, reorganizing digital assets, and making necessary content and UX corrections
Stay current with digital content best practices, including industry standards for web and mobile sites, emerging technologies, UX design techniques, accessibility, and usability
Support with documenting functional and design requirements when required
Support with uploading and managing authoring guidelines on Confluence
Manage all digital asset libraries to ensure proper taxonomy is followed
Complete QA checks to ensure all content are published without error
Collaborate with the IT and Product Delivery team in planning, designing, and implementing new components/templates across OTPP digital channels. Use agile methodology to track and document all workflow processes in JIRA.
Ability to interpret data and leverage those insights to inform design decisions
Have the ability to multi-task and contribute to ongoing projects, often with quick turnaround times as assigned
Other duties as assigned
University/College Degree or Professional Certificate in Digital Media, Digital Design, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in Website Design and Digital Publishing
Previous experience within a corporate Marketing department is an asset
Good understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform or similar CMS platforms with front-end development abilities
Proficient in the following capacities:
Content Management Tools/Systems
Website UX and Responsive Design
Deep Understanding of accessibility standards WCAG 2.0
General understanding of website metrics
SEO/SEM (Search Engine Optimization/Search Engine Marketing)
Social Media publishing applications/platforms and best practices
(publishing in Hootsuite is an asset)
Email marketing and template design
Digital screen and screensaver publishing
Knowledgeable in designing and publishing content for the corporate intranet: Simplrr or similar application experience is an asset.
Experience with digital design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, etc.) is preferred
Ability to learn new CMS systems as introduced.
Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) an asset
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skill
Great eye for visual layouts and excellent attention to details
Proven ability to deliver a project from concept to completion with minimal oversight
Good verbal and written communications skills
Experience in financial services industry an asset
Fluency in French an asset
